Make it.

Our Production Process From Beginning to End – There are various ways to do wet felting and every designer has their techniques. However, some aspects of the process are the same. All start with applying thin layers of merino wool roving. Once this is completed then its lightly sprayed with soapy water, sandwiched between bubble wrap, and rolled for a time period where the wool will intertwine with each other and any other natural fabrics that have been applied. This agitation process will reward you with a truly unique and exceptional textile cloth. Applying wool to natural fibres is the nuno felting process and likely produces the most original results.

Make it stand out.

Production Quality & Technique

Wet felting is her medium of choice. Nuno felting, meaning melding wool, into a sheer natural fabric, allows her to design with an open mind to all the possibilities in renewal while applying a modern twist on a traditional ancient technique.

 Identification/labelling

Denise identifies her brand with the term “Philomena-Fashion Art”. She sees her colorful mosaic-like creations as art displayed on people rather than a wall. Allowing her customers to feel the joy through color. Also keeping consistency with the colorful images for all her visual labelling creates a nice harmonise aspect to her business.

Materials Used

Merino wool roving and reused natural fabrics such as silk, cotton, or linen.

Source of inspiration

Denise lives on the seashore of Nova Scotia, where inspiration comes easy. A breathtaking view of her ocean garden greets her eyes from her quaint little seaside studio. The sights, and sound of her surroundings feed her creativity as she designs.
